Khan's Palace want to include in the list of UNESCO World Heritage sites
Khan's Palace, part of the Bakhchysarai historical and cultural reserve, could be the first Crimean object of cultural heritage, which will be included in the list of UNESCO World Heritage site. Reported by the Main Directorate of Information Policy of the Council of Ministers of the ARC with reference to the Director General Bakhchisaraysky historical and cultural reserve Yevgeny Petrov.
He noted that the inclusion of the monument in the UNESCO list is necessary to process his nomination, which provides a preliminary restoration work.
According to Petrov, filing of nomination papers is scheduled for autumn this year. "Prior to September 1, 2011 at UNESCO should submit a dossier that will include plans for management of territories and objects of the reserve, reporting, monitoring of the Khan's palace" - said the head of the reserve. However, he recalled that the nomination of this object began in 2003 after making it to the preliminary list of National Monuments of Ukraine.
According to Petrova, the inclusion of the Khan's palace in the list will give him the opportunity to receive financial support from the fund of UNESCO.
In addition, the director of the reserve proposed to establish a State Commission for the facility, which will conduct "surveillance of his worthy performance."
SUMMARY: The Khan's Palace in Bahchisarae - former residence of the Crimean khans, historical and cultural monument of world significance, the world's only example of the Crimean Tatar palace architecture. The palace is part of the Bakhchysarai historical and cultural reserve. In the rooms of the palace a museum of history and culture of Crimean Tatars, art museum, the exhibition of weapons and firearms. The territory of the palace complex is 4,3 hectares.
